Our Work

North West Transport Hub

Ascot designed, manufactured and installed a stunning internal & external signage solution for this 21st Century public transport facility, while respecting the heritage of the grade-b listed building

The North-West Transport Hub is located at the former Waterside Train Station, a Grade B-listed building which served as one of the city’s main stations for a century before closing in 1980.

The building has been restored and repurposed for use as a 21st Century transport facility, and is intended to act as a gateway to the North-West region, as well as promoting active and sustainable travel, bringing together a wide range of transport modes and providing enhanced customer and staff facilities.

Ascot designed, manufactured and installed a comprehensive package of signage, wayfinding and creative installations both internally and externally.

The building name is prominently displayed on key elevations, fabricated in premium built-up stainless steel with beautiful Halo illumination. A large external totem, with routed and acrylic infilled text detail internally illuminated by premium LEDs welcomes visitors as they arrive.

In keeping with the sites transport heritage, Ascot outfitted the new train platform with appropriate signage in a traditional style.

Inside, Ascot enriched this multi purpose space with a range of creative installations including an interpretive wooden wall map and intricate laser cut steel planters, reaching 4 metres in height.
