Clayton Hotel, Charlemont
On the banks of Dublin's Grand Canal, Clayton Hotel Charlemont is built around three 18th century Georgian buildings
Great care was taken throughout the project to keep the original features of the buildings intact while blending these with modern architecture. This meant precise attention had to be paid to achieve the needed branding without looking out of place.
Outdoors, Ascot supplied both high and low level branding. The signs were constructed using oversized backplates. This was needed to meet the planning conditions of halo illumination and allow these to be fixed to the canopy and glass balustrades.
Within the hotel, the wayfinding signage was tailored to fit into the warm and welcoming internal design strategy. This was accomplished while remaining true to the important Clayton brand and signage guidelines. The signs all display laser cut tactile text on panels fixed using copper stand-off fixings. This provides a consistent and befitting wayfinding solution.
