2022

Ascot continues to expand operationally and achieve steady growth with new projects in UK, Ireland, Europe and beyond. In March 2022, we launched our new brand and website, carrying forward the increasingly recognised Ascot name and embodying the core values that we stand for – quality, integrity and attention to detail.

2021

As the tide turns in the fight against the global pandemic, we continue to provide dedicated support and industry-leading service for our clients and projects across all sectors.

2020

To support the NHS and local government services during the Covid-19 pandemic, we repurposed some of our production capabilities to manufacture large volumes of critical PPE products.

2019

To increase capacity and efficiency, we expanded our production facilities.

2018

To help facilitate steady growth and continue to build on strong performance, the organisation restructures from a Partnership to a Limited Company: Ascot Signs Ltd.

2015

Steady growth and highly successful project delivery throughout the UK and Ireland continues thanks to a great team pulling together to achieve a strong performance at every level of the organisation.

2014

2013

In house Project Design team created, to provide our clients with a further value-added service.

2012

100 years since M.A. White began his apprenticeship.

2011

Company relocated into current purpose-built office and production facility.

2004

The company restructured and relocated to a new office and workshop. Andrew White remains as Senior Partner. The signage element of the business became the main focus for M.A. White Group and the company rebrands under the new name ASCOT Signs.

1985

Matthew White Jnr dies, 40 years after joining the company. The business continues to service a wide range of projects for a varied customer base.

1967

M.A. White, the company founder, retires. Matthew White Jnr and Andrew White continue to develop the business.

1963

Matthew's son, Andrew, joined the company as an apprentice.

1948

To meet the demand for decorating materials following the war years, the company opened a store on a busy town centre thoroughfare.

1945

Matthew White Jnr joined the company as an apprentice.

1939-1945

Becoming increasingly recognised for quality and integrity, the company expanded the workforce considerably. During the war years, the Lough Foyle ocean inlet, near where Matthew had established his workshop, became a busy naval sea port.

1938

After 26 years' service with his original employer, Matthew established his own business, M.A. White. This enterprise commenced with decorating and sign writing.

1912

Matthew A. White (1898-1968) is indentured to train for 7 years to become a craftsman in the traditional skills of sign writing, marbling, graining and gilding.

  • Operations Director

    Alan has worked in the signage industry for 15+ years, and as Operations Director he is ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of our projects nationwide. He provides strategic input to all elements of design, manufacture and installation – in particular for our most technically challenging assignments. Alan is passionate about on-time delivery, has a keen eye for detail and is insistent that every project is delivered to the highest possible standard.

 
  • Sales Director

    Laurence leads the Sales team from the front, with 20+ years of experience in project sales and business development. He is responsible for implementing effective strategies that have proved key to sustainable growth. His strong commercial ability alongside a dedication to achieving best value for our clients make him a key contributor to successful outcomes on even the most challenging of projects.

 
  • Production Director

    Roger has 20+ years of experience in the signage industry, and currently heads up the Production Department. His depth of product knowledge, coupled with his energy and drive make him a key member of the Management team. Roger’s strong belief in the company culture is always evident.

 
  • Business Development Director

    Terry is highly focused on client and project requirements, and his creativity combined with a depth of product knowledge lie behind many successful project outcomes and enduring partnerships. Along with this he implements change and develops marketing strategy for the business.

 
  • Managing Director

    Garth has had close involvement with strategic decision-making and business development for over 20 years, leading the team through strength of character and a visionary plan for growth. He is passionate about culture, quality and successful project delivery. Garth provides both strategic and hands-on input to the most complex and challenging of bespoke projects, inspiring the team with his Can-Do attitude and keen sense of humour.

  • Financial Director

    Joe brings a wealth of wisdom and experience into our boardroom. His top-level experience in industrial manufacturing and public sector financial management is much valued.
